Não tenho billeto para Infest :o( (edited)

Ok, some of the title will be wrong, please correct me.
So, Not in Bradford this weekend. So what did I do? Why I went to Porto of course!
Two things were of interest, finally there was some electro at Heaven's (apparently) and there was a cool thing at Fabrica do Som. First Stop was Heavens because, A) They have a minium drink €5 policy but B) No entry fee. oh yes my pretty darlings, the politics of drinking in this fair city. So, like a true child of Withnail, down to Heaven's which, from the info opens at 22.00...

Oh NO it doesn't.

I have to admit, I kind of like it's sleazy position in town. But (don't frown), it would be nicer with more of a buzz ala Glasgow Cathouse circa 1990 in Brown Street.
Brown Street was a bit scary in that you had to enter the RLD (Red Light District) to get to your destination. The point was, you got to the door, and because of all the other beautiful people, you felt safe.

Heaven's...
Right in THE middle of the RLD.

Heaven's...
Right in THE middle of the RLD. However, here we have no buffer zone. It's quiet when I turn up too, and it's hot, and the street is a little ripe. But at least something is buzzing.
So NOT open at 22.00 so I go and find a café bar. For me this place was a bit scary. Kind of Denniston café scary. Imagine being in a café in Haghill at 10.30 pm. Imagine how aware you are that you have not yet made a will...

Coffee, fantastic! Beer, perfect temperature. So don’t judge a book by its erm, errr ah. Just don’t!

There is a lot more. I’ll finish this tomorrow. We have tales of the prostitute that felt compelled to say hello because I had passed her three time, short dialogue on navigating via GPS in deprived areas. And a massive rant on how nice this wine and paté is.

The scariest thing about Denniston at the moment is that it seems to be getting well, yuppie-fied. There are little fancy cafes and shops springing up - well on Duke Street at any rate, The Parade is still a bit grotty, although there isn't the subsidance there is near Duke St.

The attitude that a café that serves croissant and coffee is a bit "la-di-dah" is, I think, a British thing.
I think the potential of getting stabbed in Dennistoun has not dropped much. The only difference will be the opening war cry of "Are you lookin' at ma crossant!"
