Summary of week

Well. weather was a bit crap during the week. mainly overcast with threat (or promise) of rain. first few days were spent preparing for the bike week event on wednesday and picking up a new bike from Halfords. The new bike was for the delightful - name deleted to protect the innocent - and all initially seemed fine. The frame was good, the forks fine, and it had cable discs which looked ok for the money. Got it home to find the brakes binding and the gears hadn't been properly adjusted. It wouldn't go onto the largest cog on front and went into the spokes on the rear. This caused a total failure in faith and actually resulted in many sleepless nights due to guilt and foolishness. I returned the bike and complained, picked it up on Saturday and it seems the set up is, "perfect". I am relieved and impressed.
Back to Wednesday...
Cyclist Breafast at Broomilaw. up at 6 am, cycled into city in the pissing rain. Marquee and catering already setting up!! Chap from Community Action Team there already and ready to go. M'colleague had also turned up uber early despite much personal family trauma (all in the mend, nothing emotional) and so, all that remained was to embark to said marquee and engage with said cyclists.
All in, went well. :o)
Other work related stuff is dull so won't bang on. But after picking up Halfords bike and being happy, it just remains to get to IKEA and buy a rug, come home, play with the cat and start all over again.

Other stuff (mainly bike). Went to buy a multi tool for bike. felt "uncomfortable" with the topeak range, even though I really like them, because they have a selection in the office stores. Did not want to have to carry the receipt around with me. bought a crank bros. M19 and I kinda like it. It had it's own little tin, ahhh... Ordered some new pedals online, Evans, koni JJ primos for £20 :)and some Shimano STX quickfire changers for the halfords bike. twist grips are not nice.

I would have been along for a breakfast, but the rain was brutal. I'm afraid I wimped out and took the train. It's the only day I haven't used the new bike since picking it up.
