That mole is spoiling my life!

So, I was out about a month ago and on the Sunday I notice this mole who had come to visit about 5 years ago was looking very angry. Was concerned? nope, I was panicking. I congratulated myself on having already chosen the music for my funeral, but I really hadn't bargained on the disc being required so soon. Soon the mole grew darker and began to harden. I should add that I had contacted my GP by this point and had recieved an appointment at the dermatology clinic. Got there today. he looked at it and confidently proclaimed it as slightly annoyed but neither malicious nor malignant. Much sighing of relief. I guess I should get back to writing my thesis...

Snow and lab stuff

Ok it has been a while since I put something up here. But I have been busy and that excuse, whilst not really good enough, is all that I’ve got.
So, the paper is submitted. Still haven’t received anything from them though. I have started on other stuff and hope that will go well. I went into the lab the other week to find that one of my “colleagues” was trying to hijack my equipment. Now, most of what I am using is uni or departmental equipment and that is fair game I guess. I mean, I should have finished by now.
But the stuff he was trying to hijack was the equipment which I had designed and was specific to me. Not transferable, not even relevant to his line of work. So obviously it was handbags a dawn. The outcome of this was being told that technically, “my equipment” was department equipment. To which I pointed out I had it fabricated via another department at their expense. I know I sound a bit like I don’t want anyone playing with my toys, but really… so that got sorted, I moved all my stuff out of the fume hood and up to the end of the lab.
I can sort out the loose ends going in one day a week I think.

On top of all this, I replaced the front end of the mini. Photos to come.
Went to see The Mighty Boosh, who were fantastic
Went to the Cryotec night in Edinburgh and got to drive back to Glasgow in a blizzard. Cryotec itself was very good. Liked the music and got to meet some people I hadn’t seen in a while. On the way back the mini was ok on the motorway, but when I finally got back home it simply refused to go up the slight incline to where I park. So I had to fetch a shovel and dig out a parking space. Good stuff.
Later in the day I had a go at snow sculpting, which was very satisfying. Now I want it to snow more and practice. I know what hobby to take up when the gulf stream packs in and the UK begins to freeze up.

I have also committed myself to learning to snowboard this year.
