Holiday - with rain, as per usual.

Last year, we went up the west cost of Scotland, it rained. A few months later, in Portugal, it also rained. This weekend we are in Buttermere in the Lake District of England and beautiful as it is, it is raining. We dragged our sorry frames out of bed this morning to the sound of the usual holiday rain. things looked promising for a while. Inside the cloud seemed fine. calm, bit damp, slight air of a rural Silent Hill about it.
It's all good though. It was fun and when it stopped being fun we came back down for some beer. Still seems like a holiday to me.

Bloody Microsoft

So, the other day I had left my computer connected to the interwebs and it did it's update thing...
So now it has been "attempting repairs" for 4 hours as evidence of another half arsed update from microsoft. I despair. why oh why oh why did I buy 7? why did it fool me into believing in it/ why did I fall for it?
Today I took Dennis my trusty tractor (mountain bike) into work as I thought he was getting neglected since the new arrival. Was a mile down the road and got a massive 18th century nail through my back tyre. Such is life. Took ten minutes to change the tube. Was nice to be able to jump over things even if Dennis is a bit slower and about twice the weight of the evil twin.
I have some good pictures, so as soon as my bloody computer is working again, I'll post some stuff.

Easter weekend

Friday I went to have a look at some road bikes. I was going to take it easy and maybe get some new pedals for the mountain bike. But...
So I bought a Specialized Tricross Sport. Which is rather nice and shiny.
later SB and I tried to watch 2012 which must be one of the worst films I've ever seen. And we only saw about half of it. We very nearly saw this in the cinema a few months ago, but thankfully didn't. It was worse than Avatar and that takes a bit of effort.
A few days before we watched Hallan Foe which was very good.
Saturday, I bought some more cycling shoes and put the cleats on them. May have practised un-clipping my feat. Played Scrabble. Lost.
Sunday I piddled around and took ages but finally we went up to Whitelee Wind Farm and did a bit of Geo-Caching. I didn't find it again, SB did.
Sunday evening we went to The Captain's Rest to see "What the Blood Revealed" who were fantastic, as usual.
