Latest

The pups have their eyes open and are just so cute. big tongues though...
very wide. Thought I was going mad last night. Had a piece of steak in the fridge which was a couple of days over, but still smelled fine, so I cooked it for the Snackie. Who was a happy creature and even shut the F**k up for 4 hours!

Sabado 16

Firstly, all the dogs are doing fine. Snackie has taken to howling a lot again, but if I was in her position, I think I'd have problems too.
I have new neighbours. Seems to be two teenage boys and their parents. So, there I am climbing the steps to main door, and there is sullen teenager of indeterminate sex, the red track suit and long hair confused me no end, smoking a cigarette. I say good afternoon (in portuguese) to meet a blank expression, looking at me in the same way you might look at a cross species sex criminal. Next time, I close th edoor firmly, security is so important these days...

Weird day.

8 am – Let Snackster out to have a mooch around as per usual.
10 am – Snackster scratches at the door and sounds a bit whiney. I go to door to let her in. She looks very upset and there, on the door step, amongst some goo is a puppy. I should say that I had been giving the pooch extra food recently and the slight weight gain I noticed was attributed to that. Not the fact that she was apparently pregnant. So, into the basket she went, I retrieve the one on the doorstep and soon more begin to follow.
At this point, pups are out, six in all. They are black, so look back in the blog and guess which one got to her. When they aren’t feeding, they make weird squeaking noises. Not like Eeek! But like the noise you get when you rub two balloons together, imagine the sound you hear when you walk past a guy making balloon animals in a shopping mall. The miracle of life is a bit gross and smelly. And I’m sure when they start walking barking howling and shitting everywhere the miracle will be even more evident.
They are kinda cute though, and poor Snackster has this rather bewildered look.
Today it was 24 degrees in the shade, 27 in the sun.

Near miss

So, walking home from CAR and a car hits the pavement , a lamp post and ends up dead in the road. The guy driving is obviously a bit pissed simply by his sheer lack of concern as to what had just occurred. First thought that occurs to me is that moments before, I was going to cross the road, and given time lost crossing road etc I would have been in the path of the vehicle. Looking at the damage to the lamp post and picturing myself as being in between car and post, it is hard for me to imagine how I would becoming away from such an accident with anything more minor that actually loosing a leg. So obviously I think these fuckers should be hung from the nearest tree. Interestingly, moments before the crash, another car drives over a very high kerb to get to a parking space to avoid driving round. Doing this the car grounded its exhaust. Again, to decide this is a reasonable option, I think, requires a little more beer than consideration.

Interestingly, the crashed car which totalled the lamp post, air bags didn’t go off. This was fast enough to merit them. I will try to find out what the car was. Renault or Peugeot I think.
